Research in our lab is centered on developing novel tissue engineering microtechnologies to mimic native cellular microenvironments. Specific areas of interest are to develop three-dimensional tumor models, study cancer drug resistance and the underlying mechanisms, and develop lung airway models to study therapeutics delivery in the lungs. These interdisciplinary projects are funded by NIH, NSF, and DoD and involve both experimental and computational aspects, and collaboration with engineering, medical, and clinical investigators.
